I'll tell you, packing is the worst. I always over pack and never know exactly what I'll need. I remember when Dan and I went to Europe last time and I totally overpacked and had to carry the giant backpack all over the place. Since Kirsten and I will be mostly stationary I won't have to pack as much, but I know I will and space is at a premium.
Sitting around and waiting is horrible. As I get clothes, games, etc. together, I wonder at all I will truly need and then start removing things. I packed and repacked different books already same with toilettries that I may or may not need and I'm of the belief as soon as I don't back something I'll need it. The best part is that we are not going to some sort third world country so we can buy what we need if we forget it.
One major advantage this time is the digital camera. Last time, we had to bring all this film and then mail it home. I actually wound up washing three of four roles of film from England so I'll be able to replace them on this trip. The digital camera will be great to get everything organized and then be able to easily save our pics as need be. What a great invention!
