A Reached Decision

For some time now, I could not decide whether to continue writing this blog or not and obviously I came to a decision, that yes I will continue with some ramblings from time to time. For those who want to read, please continue, for those that don't, oh well it has been fun.

On the Sauce:
Yesterday I made my first real BBQ sauce. About a month ago, I made a pretty simple North Carolina sauce, mostly vinnegar, which Kirsten really like but is not my favorite. I used it multiple times as a marinade and that seems to greatly enhance the meat, so I kept the recipe. But yesterday I actually made a sauce. It took about an hour to make the entire concoction. I went on-line and found four different recipes that I liked, one Memphis style, two different Kansas City style, and one called St. Louis style (I knew we had cuts of meat but did not know we had a sauce). I chose aspects of each style that I thought would come together nicely and put it all together and invented a sauce that starts tomatoey sweet and ends with a little spicey kick. Not only was I extremely pleased but Kirsten liked it as well, it tastes better warmed up but cold has a nice flavor.

And so our new enterprise is born, something fun and tasty. I wanted to brew beer, but this has a quicker payoff and I do so love Bar-B-Que.
